Bookings

No advance bookings taken for the campground and in the busy holiday season (especially Christmas to 15 January) we suggest arrival by mid-afternoon to ensure you find a camping site. If demand is high an adjacent overflow camping area will be set up.

Registration

Please self-register on arrival prior to establishing your campsite. Deposit registration slip and cash in honesty box. If you prefer to pay by EFTPOS and/or require change (for camping, shower, BBQ) please see campground host. If host is not available write message on registration slip and they will follow up with you. During summer months campground hosts are resident on site and in winter they visit several times a day.

• Check-out is 12noon
• Dogs permitted provided kept under control (Note: native birds nest on the nearby Ōkārito beach September to February; ZERO Invasive Predators (ZIP) applied toxic bait (1080, brodifacoum) Ōkārito area November 2021)
• Fires not allowed Christmas to March (but are permitted on the beach; please ensure extinguished before left)
• Generators and quad bikes not allowed in campground (quad bikes/boats to be parked outside campground)
• Nearest grocery stores, service stations and medical facilities are at Franz Josef (27 km south) and Whataroa (24km north)
